Lancers' Baseball Games have been Rescheduled

The USC Lancaster Lancers baseball games have been rescheduled for the weekend of February 13th and 14th due to the predicted cold weather.  The games have been rescheduled for Friday February 12th as the games will start at 1:00 and then on Saturday the 13th the games will also start at 1:00.  There are also plenty of season tickets available for $50.00 for the spring season. Lancers Baseball Starts Spring Season with a Sweep of Catawba Valley Community College

The USC Lancaster Baseball Team began the spring 2016 season with a sweep of the Catawba Valley Community College Red Hawks on February sixth and seventh. The Lancers won the fist game on Saturday by a score of seven to six. Freshman hurler Evan "Buckshot" Flynn got his first collegiate win as he pitched three innings of relief. Freshman Walt Ballentine led off the bottom half of the first inning with his first collegiate homerun and freshman Evan Edwards blasted his first collegiate homerun to deep right field. Ryan Mason also chipped in two hits and drove in a run. The second game on Saturday was a win for the Lancers as they won eight to two. Sophomore Daniel Willcutt earned the win as he went five innings while fanning seven and giving up no runs. Evan Edwards supplied four runs batted in and also crushed his second homerun of the day. Ballentine, Ryan Rickey, and Mason drove in a run a piece. Ryan Knowles also added two hits. Sunday's games also produced two wins despite the cold weather. Sophomore David Pattinson got the win for the Lancers in the first game as the guys won 12 to 11. The Lancers were led at the plate by Christian Cain and Mason as they drove in two runs a piece while adding to hits a piece. Sophomore Jonathon Sabo added his first home run of the season and a run batted in while Rickey, Ballentine, and Samuel Blalock added runs batted in. Thomas DuRant started on the mound in the final game of the day and posted the win as he went three innings while fanning two Red Hawks. Will Reid, Tyler Baker, and Pattinson finished in relief with Pattison getting the save. Sabo and Mason supplied five runs batted in and Rickey drove in a run leading the Lancers winning six to four. The Lancers play at home again on February 12th and 13th with the pitch times each day slated for 1:00. Come out and support the Lancers. Read more.

Soocer Matches Promoting Cancer Awareness

The USC Lancaster Men's and Women's Soccer Teams held their annual Cancer Awareness Soccer Matches on October 9, 2015. The women and men's teams along with USC Salkehatchie released balloons between the matches in honor and memory of people who are battling cancer or whose lives were taken by cancer. The men's team began the first match and started out with a one to zero lead on a Logan Stuart goal. During the second half the Lancers controlled the field and Evan Davis scored on a penalty kick to give the guys a two to zero lead which was the final score. The ladies started off the last match of the day as they took an early five to zero lead over USC Salkehatchie. The Lady Lancers won the match six to zero. Lady Lancers Volleyball Team Plays Two Matches at Home

The Lady Lancers Volleyball Team played its first two home matches of its inaugural season on September 24th and 26th. The Lady Lancers faced their Region X opponent Spartanburg Methodist on Thursday evening at home. The Lady Lancers played very well in the match, but came up short against the Pioneers. The Ladies faced Cape Fear Community College on Saturday in their second home match of the fall season, but came up short in a bid for their second win of the season. The Volleyball Team travels to Cape Fear Community College in Wilmington, NC this Friday and Saturday for a volleyball tournament. The first match that is slated for the Lancers is against Cape Fear at 1:00 and then a 3:00 match with the Community College of Baltimore. The next home match for the girls will be on November 3rd against Catawba Valley Community College which starts at 6:00 that evening. Read more.
