Lancers Compete in the Eastern District Tournament

The University of South Carolina Lancaster Baseball Team competed in the Eastern District Championship the weekend May 17th through the 19th in Keyser, West Virginia.  The tournament featured four teams and two of them were from Region X, the Lancers and Spartanburg Methodist College.  The Lancers faced ASA College in the first game as ace pitcher Dylan Parker took the mound.  Dylan pitched ten strong innings and struck out 12 batters.  The Lancers lost a heart breaker to ASA four to three in 11 innings.  Jacob Murphy and Nick Sergakis hit the ball well in this game.  Jacob had two hits, including a home run and drove in three runs for the Lancers.  Nick had two hits and scored a run in the effort.
The second game pitted the Lancers against Potomac State College. Potomac State came out to an early lead and the guys could not recover from it.  Randy Luckett and Nick Sergakis had two hits a piece to pace the Lancers at the plate. Chaz Venezia and Ryan Manore also pitched in hits.  Potomac State capitalized and won the game eight to zero.  Congratulations to the Lancers Baseball Team on a wonderful spring and their history making run in the postseason.
