The Lancers Split with Middle Georgia State College on February 8

The USC-Lancaster Lancers Baseball Team played a doubleheader on February 8, 2014 against Middle Georgia State College. The first game was a nail biter as the Lancers came from behind to win nine to eight. The Lancers sent Wade Arduini to the mound for the first game and he went six innings and struck out six. Freshman Matthew Justice came into the game in the seventh inning to notch his first collegiate win. The Lancers were led at the plate by Derek Croxton, Bryan Dye, Jordan Williams, and Mitchell Price. Derek had four hits with two runs driven in, while Dye had two hits and drove in two runs. Mitchell Price had two hits and also chipped in two runs driven in. Jordan Williams reached base three times with hits. The Lancers faced Middle Georgia State College late Saturday afternoon and fell eight to three in seven innings. The Lancers were led at the plate by Zach Callahan, Ryan Manore, and Bryan Dye. They each had a hit and also driving in a run a piece. Manore had a double with a run driven in. Tanner Petrey, Bryan Drager, and Josh Shailer pitched the last game on Saturday. Shailer went two strong innings while striking out one batter. Petrey went four innings and took the loss. Bryan Drager pitched one inning while fanning one batter. The Lancers play Middle Georgia State College again on Sunday in one nine inning game.
