Lancers Battle to the End of the Game, but Come Up Short Against Middle Georgia State College

The Lancers Baseball Program faced Middle Georgia State College in a nine inning game on Sunday. The Lancers battled the whole game, but came up short 12 to 9. The Lancers swung the bats well on Sunday as Zach Callahan had a four hit game and drove in a run. Bryan Dye continued to swing a hot bat as he chipped in three hits and drove in two runs. Wade Arduini smacked two hits and scored two runs. Shortstop Casey Parker also had two hits, scored two runs, and drove in his first two runs of the spring. The Lancers sent four guys to the mound Sunday afternoon. Chris Stewart pitched an inning, but had a rough go at it. Tyler Jackson pitched five solid innings while fanning six. Austin Hill pitched two and a half innings while striking out four. Freshman Ben Taylor pitched a quarter of an inning. The Lancers are slated to face Saint Andrews University JV Team on February 13, 2014 in a doubleheader at Doomsday Corner. The first pitch will be thrown at 3:00.
