Lancers Finish Pepsi Tournament With Three Wins

The Lancers Baseball Program finished up with three wins in the Pepsi Tournament in Florence, South Carolina.  The Lancers played Potomac State College of West Virginia in the first game on Sunday.  The Lancers lost a heart breaker to them by a score of one to zero.  Austin Hill pitched the whole game while giving up five hits and fanning five batters.  The lone run was scored on a sacrifice fly in the top of the fourth inning.  The Lancers had three hits off of the bats of Tommy Winterstein, Jordan Williams, and Zach Callahan.  Tad Martin and Bryan Dye walked to get on base.  The Lancers Patrick Burt also had a scarifice bunt.

Muskegon College of Michigan faced the Lancers in the late afternoon game.  The game was a back and forth event as the Lancers prevailed seven to six.  Three pitchers saw action for the Lancers and these guys were Tyler Jackson, Matthew Justice, and Josh Shailer.  Tyler went five innings while striking out five batters.  Justice went one inning to get his third win of the spring and Josh Shailer went an inning to get his second save of the weekend.  The Lancers had seven hits in the game.  Bryan Dye had a double which drove in three runs.  Derek Croxton added a hit as well as Zach Callahan.  Mitchell Price and Chase Haas added a hit a piece.  Jonah Crenshaw scored two runs and Winterstein scored two runs.  The Lancers travel to Gaffney, South Carolina on Wednesday to face the Limestone College Junior Varsity.  The first game starts at 2:00.
