The Lancers Sweep Limestone College JV

The USC-Lancaster Lancers continued their great spring with two wins over the Limestone College Junior Varsity on Thursday afternoon at Doomsday Corner. The Lancers had to fight their way back into the lead in the first game as they were down five to two in the bottom of the sixth. The Lancers scored ten runs in the bottom of the six to beat the Saints 12 to 5. The Lancers sent six pitchers to the mound in the first game and Ryan Manore picked up his first win of the spring 2014 season. The Lancers combined for 15 hits in the game as their were seven guys that had a two hit game. Ranz Bodison, Patrick Burt and Mitchell Price drove in two runs a piece and Derek Croxton supplied a run batted in. The late afternoon game against the Saints resulted in a 9 to 3 win. Freshman Sam Pruitt picked up his second win of the spring as he went two innings and fanned two. The Lancers were led offensively by Zach Callahan. Zach had a double and a grandslam and drove in four runs. Bryan Dye added a hit that plated two Lancers runs and Jordan Williams added a double to drive in a run. Also Casey Parker and Derek Croxton supplied a hit a piece as well as Mitchell Price, Drew Graydon,and Chase Haas. The Lancers travel this weekend to USC-Sumter to play four region games. The games start at 1:00 on Saturday and Sunday afternoon.
