Baseball Team Takes Three Wins from Louisburg College

The Lancers Baseball Team earned three region wins over the Louisburg College Hurricanes this past weekend at home.  The Lancers split with the Hurricanes on Saturday as the Lancers lost the first game 11 to 0 and won the second game 6 to 1.  The Lancers sent Tyler Jackson to the mound in the first game on Saturday.  Tyler did not fare well on the mound as he gave up four runs in the first inning.  Ben Taylor and Sam Pruitt finished the game and they gave up nine runs and struck out four Hurricanes.  Jordan Williams had a hit as well as Ranz Bodison.  Casey Parker belted a double.  The second game saw Tanner Petrey on the mound for the home team.  Tanner went six strong innings to pick up the win.  He fanned eight batters while scattering four hits.  Josh Shailer pitched the seventh inning and whiffed one batter.  The Lancers were paced at the plate by several guys in the second game.  Zach Callahan had two hits and drove in a run.  Bryan Dye had two hits as did Ranz Bodison.  Patrick Burt added a single and a double.  Tad Martin and Ryan Manore supplied two hits a piece while driving in two runs.

On Sunday, the Lancers took the final two games from Louisburg by scores of 14 to 8 and 13 to 5.  Austin Hill started the first game.  He gave up four runs while striking out three batters.  Bryan Drager struck out one batter while going two innings.  Matthew Justice went an inning and Josh Shailer picked up the win as he went an inning and retired five Hurricanes.  Ryan Manore had four hits which included two doubles and two rbi's.  Tommy Winterstein chipped in two hits and two runs batted in and Zach Callahan chipped in three hits and two rbi's.  Casey Parker went two for three with a double and Tad Martin scored two runs and had a single.  The late afternoon game featured Chris Stewart on the bump.  Chris went six innings to pick up the win.  He fanned five batters.  There guys combined for 18 hits in the second game.  Casey Parker had four hits, Bryan Dye had two singles, and Zach Callahan had a double and a single.  Ryan Manore smacked a double and a single while Mithcell Price had two hits.  Freshman catcher Drew Graydon had two rbi's on two hits and Tad Martin had a hit.  Ranz Bodison belted a solo homerun, a double, and a single.  Derek Croxton scored two runs and was hit by a pitch.  The Lancers travel to Florence-Darlington Tech this weekend to face the Stingers in Region X play.
