Lancers Suffer Rough Road Trip to Florence-Drlington Tech

The USC-Lancaster Lancers suffered three losses this past weekend to the Stingers of Florence-Darlington Tech. The Lancers took the win in the first game on Saturday as Austin Hill took the mound. Austin pitched five strong innings while whiffing three Stingers batters and allowing four hits. Tad Martin smashed two doubles that drove in three runs and Bryan Dye added a double and three runs driven in. Ranz Bodison and Mitchell Price had two hits a piece. Ryan Manore added a double and a run batted in. Sophomore catcher Patrick Burt chipped in a hit as did Casey Parker and Derek Croxton. The Lancers won the first game 11 to 0. The second game did not go well for the Lancers as they lost a heartbreaker 3 to 2. Josh Shailer suffered the loss in the nine inning game. Tanner Petrey went six innings while giving up two runs on three hits. Casey Parker had a triple at the plate that drove in a run and Ryan Manore drove in a run. Derek Croxton, Zach Callahan, Ranz Bodison, and Drew Graydon had a hit in the game. The Lancers suffered two losses on Sunday. The first game on Sunday resulted in a 10 to 2 loss. Chris Stewart worked five innings from the mound and took the loss. Derek Croxton chipped in a hit and Casey Parker added a hit while scoring a run. Bryan Dye went 2 for 3 and Patrick Burt had a single. The late afternoon game in Florence, South Carolina was a 5 to 0 loss to the Stingers. Derek Croxton, Ranz Bodison, and Drew Graydon had hits. Ryan Manore took the loss. Sam Pruitt pitched an inning and Matthew Justice pitched two innings and fanned one batter. The Lancers are at home this weekend on April 18-19 as they face region foe Pitt Community College. First pitch both days will be at 1:00. After the games on Saturday the Lancers Baseball Team, coaches, and staff will honor Dalton Socrates who is battling leukemia by shaving their heads.
