Nick Calhoun was named head baseball coach in August of 2017, and Athletic Director in August of 2019.  He came to USC Lancaster after serving as a graduate assistant in 2016 and 2017 at Bethany College (NCAA Division III) in West Virginia.  While at Bethany College, his main responsibilities were overseeing the development of the team's defense, baserunning, strength and conditioning, coaching 3rd base, and assisting in running all day-to-day facets of a college baseball program.  The Bethany Bison set a program record for team fielding percentage in 2016 (.962) and 2017 (.968).

Before coming to Bethany College, Coach Calhoun spent 2014 and 2015 at Salem International University (now Salem University -- NCAA Division II) in Salem, West Virginia.  While at Salem he was the hitting and outfield coach.  Coach Calhoun started his collegiate coaching career at Murray State College, an NJCAA Division II program in Tishomingo, Oklahoma.  While there he helped coach the Aggies' hitters, outfielders, and base runners.  In 2013, the Murray State College Aggies were crowned the NJCAA Division II National Champions.

Coach Calhoun also has had multiple collegiate coaching stints.  He helped coach the Cotuit Kettleers in the Cape Cod League, under head coach Mike Roberts, in 2016 and 2017.  Prior to that he was as assistant for the Kitsap Blue Jackets, members of the West Coast League, head coach of the Hawks-Prairie Cardinals in the Puget Sound Collegiate League, and started his coaching career in 2012 with the Slippery Rock Sliders of the Prospect League.  Coach Calhoun resides in Lancaster, SC with his wife, Natalie and their dog, Sidney.
